How does it work?
At Castle Gate we use Botulinum, anti-wrinkle treatment. It works by blocking the nerve endings to the facial muscles, which causes the muscles to relax. The skin then ceases to crease, which means lines will soften and fade.
Is it safe?
Over the last 15 years botulinum has been widely used. It is manufactured in a controlled sterile laboratory and is highly purified. It is only given in minute doses and has an excellent safety profile, with no serious side effects (Singh et al, 2006)
.What’s involved?
Treatment involves several small injections and is typically complete within 30 minutes. Initial effects are noticeable within 48 hours and the full benefit will be realised within a fortnight. With further treatments the effects are usually progressively longer lasting.
